BIOGRAPHY

I'm Jason Merrells.  I am an artist, actor, director and writer.  I graduated in Fine Art/Related Arts from Chichester University.

​

I am best known for my acting work in TV shows such as Agatha Raisin, Cutting It, Waterloo Road, Emmerdale, Queer As Folk, Lark Rise to Candleford and Happy Valley.

I have led numerous stage shows, including in the West End and have directed for both television and short film.*

In 2022 I won Celebrity Portrait Artist of the Year, which was aired on Sky Arts, with my oil portrait of Noddy Holder painted in four hours.

​

I specialise in a variety of mediums -

Portrait, Print, Abstract, Sculpture.

I also paint landscape and draw still life.
