can i return the art if i don't like it?

Once you have selected the art work or approved a commission I am afraid they cannot be returned once they have been shipped.  No refunds are given due to the unique nature of the pieces.

3

can i stop a commission once it's started?

You may stop a commission once it has been started but you will not be refunded the 30% deposit.

4

how do i check on progress of a commission?

Once we have collaborated and agreed on the type of work you would like, you will transfer me 30% of the total price of the work upfront.  We will also agree on an appropriate time frame for completion.  This will be estimated based on size, scope and backlog of works.  You will receive updates of the work in progress.  After the completed piece is approved, I will require full payment.  Once shipped no refunds are given.  Shipping is not included in the price.

what is it like to sit for a portrait?

Sitting for a portrait is a wonderful experience and the most ideal way for me to capture you or a loved one.  If you choose to sit for me I will send you the address of my studio in South Cambridgeshire and we will agree a date.  Sitting for a portrait will take anything between 5 and, perhaps, 10 hours.  This is split over several days.  We will also take regular breaks during the course of the sitting. You will need to maintain the same position so I recommend choosing a comfortable one.  I have an old armchair in the studio which is good to use.  I will be led by you if you want to chat, listen to music, read, sleep or be silent during this time.

how much does a commission cost?

A commission will vary in price depending upon what is requested.  We will discuss this before the work begins.  For example, costs for a small painting in oil will start around £150.  A medium size oil painting will be upwards of £300.  Large, statement pieces commence at £1,000.  Pencil and ink drawings in A4 would be approx. £150 - £500.  Prints (as an original commission), depending on size, would start at £200. Prints will include mounting and framing.  Sculpture will be POA.  Contact me for further information.
